Had the privilege  of running  USAF portion of Patton  Days   Ettlebruck  Lux no longer  held,  where George  is  still their  hero as  PIO Spangdahlem AB  early  70’s.We   provided  the  USAFE band ( I was briefly  asst. conductor ) and fly by over  parade  and  cemetery. Met his  son about  ’74  as  guest  of honor. I don’t  think much of “Killing Patton”, too many  errors  and oddities  setting  up Ike, Winnie, HST, and Bill Donovan   as  villains. Stalin I’ll buy but  the 2:45 time involved  driving to the .hunt was  NOT a  lot of opportunity. for a planned  accident.  Just  tragic. Then after  being paralyzed as  none  could  predict? Not  a  real  good  reason  to finish  hm off . Weak end that simply  trails off  proving nothing. Luxembourgers  are  great  folks. We’d meet in  the  city chamber  an  hour 10 AM  twice  for planning and  they’d  throw  a  feast  until  2PM. One of the  city council had a  Silver  Star  awarded  by Patton  himself for  Bulge  citizen . resistance; driving there up the Saur from the Mosel we’d pass a big chateau where vonRunstedt  ran  the  battle.  About  Dec  27 ’44 I guess he  was packing  to move  out

Yep, I’ve always gone with 7 hills for San Fran.  Herb certainly will be the eternal SF icon.  My parents knew him, (my Dad worked for The Chronicle).
 
The Eifel obviously a beautiful area there in Europe . To the west, Battle of the Bulge country ( Ardennes ) and the grand F1 circuit at Spa-Francorchamps.

With 74? Perhaps  at least one  good  enough to level with but  I grew  up with Unka  Herb thinking  7 and  that’d  be tough. Still, dated  a  few  magnificent  Alameda Countyians with ALL OF UCB to pick and is  only  ONE big hill before  Diablo, AFTER   Caen wrote  ” East Bay is  pig  latin for beast”. Never dated on  Farallons, closest? post  midnight  romantic  Seal Rocks   Land ‘s End. Like  most? Was  wasted  on me  young. Married  at  34 and came  from Eifel Mtns , whole  bunch  of  worn volcanic peaks. Is  the  slate  that  makes  Mosel Reisling  great.

 ‘Well THAT ought certainly keep me up nights, (given the dearth of attractive women in this town).But then again, as Confucius said:  “Man who make love to woman on hill is not on level”.
