Got my neck vertebrae shot Tue. Dr said I’m like a tank so close to bone on bone that one spot. Had a # 5 needle and then asked caddie for a #3 real slim to get in. “Looks like a real tough buried bunker lie”! Dr Hirsch again said, ” Don’t move, Don”, me a Comanche arrow in my neck! Pumped cord space so full of steriods I almost had to pee! Sedated, Dorly drove home but made her stop at Longhorn Steak for a good rare sirloin despite order to go to bed with ice. Nothing a good merlot or 3 t can’t handle!
Due next on 21st if needed. Her L hip’s doing pretty good but old R hip knee’s wobbly. She’s 2 German cousins and one my age just got a new knee. Elfrida was 1st to figure I was a good guy for Dorly after we returned off eloped to Carson City. She and mom moved in with them Mar 1945, small farm town, coal mining, Ermtraut, across E side of Rhine after Patton leveled Trier when would not surrender. He moved on to take a pee in the Rhine while walking across. Guy was a real tough bastard as Trier discovered. He’d just rescued the Bulge battle and went back to going to get Hitler Allies did not allow so took Bavaria instead and released concentration camps 1st discovered. He, Curtis Lemay, Atom Bomber USAF chief (set in process training of me back when and I was once his Aide for one day’s meetings of USAF Commanders after retired to Simi Valley which meant had Top Secret clearance so as bases Sr 1st Lt unattached about to go to SEA from SAC Riverside CA carried his cigars after I met him as landed in borrowed Twin Aero Commander from new boss Rockwell -Standard ) and H.S. Truman who said go drop them! were the real heros of WW2. War is most terrible thing ever imagined so end it ASAP with EVERYTHING! George, Curt and Harry were all that! 8
Where are you going, Henny-penny, Cocky-locky, Ducky-daddles, and Gooseypoosey?’ says Turkey-lurkey. ‘Oh! we’re going to tell the king the sky’s a-falling,’ said Henny-penny. She rang the castle bell.

More than any need to know. Dated a pretty blonde, Elaine
Paulson 1960 at SJSU from Cotati who insisted was the REAL egg capitol not Petaluma. Chicks gone- vines grow.
Henny Penny well used cafe name and also a worldwide chicken fryer manufacturer . Imagine Clearlake Pk was off shoot of Petaluma’s figured n a famous killing ’03.
Mom remarried in ’93 age 80 to a guy looked near exactly like my step dad Jack died ’72 in Prunedale. Charlie also a retired electrician in Clear Lake Lucerne. Met when my aunt in Cameron Pk’d drive her 1/2 way so bother Val Music Dept head at Humbolt St could take on home Mckinleyvlle. They’d stop at the small grocery to switch and Charlie asked mom how the orange juice tasted. Great pick up line while shopping block away his home up the hillside. Had a few fun years and was a good person. His family there made them divorce so she’d not get anything. My family? To hell with them bastards! Who wants it? We paid the attorney. He had serious heart problems and mom began mental decline ended in Manor Care Ft Worth, 2005. She’d put us to sleep with Ma Gooses and a sucker for every door to door encyclopedia sales. Val and I’d get A-Z so she’d buy another on the never-never. ChildCraft to A Picturesque Tale of Progress , Grolier’s and finally in Hi School, Compton’s I’d read on lunch break topping garlic in Gilroy @ .25 a lug box. Buried those jeans when Jr year Salinas Hi school started 1954 but paid for class ring finally lost a few years back . Takes some squeezing but can stuff it all in 78 years come Sept 24th. Here’s Vaughan Williams Folk Suite and Percy Granger folk song. “I’m 17 come Sunday.”
But hell with those. When I was 15 in Jan ’53 after football band season my band music teacher handed out Grainger’s “Irish Tune from County Derry” ( Danny Boy/Londonderry Air) Perc’d done a musical joke and it features a 4th Horn solo with the melody while the top 3 Horns are the harmony until later recap. That’s MY part to play and I realized Mr McKillop had plans for me next 2 years. So I wailed it in Spring Concert while my 1st Horn brother just smiled. My thought, “This just may be something I can finally do well enough to be pretty damn good”. Took me all the way into USAF as a Horn player to be assigned Hamilton Field until the choice to become officer and flyer after Basic Training. Last real concert was 3rd Horn with Waco Symphony Van Cliburn in Mar ’63 while still had some chops in Nav Training and hung them up until San Jose Wind Symphony 50 anniversary in 2007. Back to last assistant 4th Horn again but really loud and bemedaled , formal.
Oh, Mac’s other accomplishments include brother Val, Dean Emeritas and University historical treasure Humboldt St Univ and odd one , taught Frank Zappa how to play snare drum in Monterey Summer School program, 1952, while dad was at Naval Post Grad school there. Instilled a bit of classical music love lived on quite awhile. Mac could do that. Just some teach’s have the gift . Always tried to be one in turn . But WOW it takes work! 8
