Speak of service. I know this weapon well. Was programmable by reset on ground in a range and this was a 1.1 Meg device 1 of 4 in fwd bay. I’d crawl all over them in between as the smaller of the 2 Nav crew to check settings before accepting the alert AC. One guy reads other checks data always 2 men anywhere near the plane. Perfectly safe UNLESS were doing “ODD” something flying with them or “WEIRD” like refueling inflight in bad weather we’d do sometimes more than once a mission and ALWAYS safe unless alert launched and we NEVER were!!
