John, halt the countdown at 77 and holding as will I this year. On another day Oct 26th ’67 I was a new assigned Combat Crew Instructor Nav-Bomb at Shaw AFB SC after 200 B-57 missions , 40 North. Glad to surprise all as home alive and quite proud of doing things right as a citizen taught.. Earlier, late 64, we’d learned at March AFB, B-52s, Ev Alverez my ’55 class Salinas Hi had gone missing 1st A-4 msn Haiphong. When Mather AFB took over our NucAlert Guam and began to train for Arc Light.I ran across another classmate Joe Robertson good friend of Ev. Ev was sports Ed , I humorist on school weekly rag. Joe checked out as AC on
Guam and killed 1st ArcLight msn inflight over PI. Lost flailing arm but somehow climbed in a raft I’d trouble with two! You kno that drill!. Ev and I mused 50th reunion school steps . Can never tell about about folks until tested. and even then you know my 8thTBS Phan Rang member , Overly. Lot of good in all.. We’d watch 1st msn eyes in RTB. Bright shiny? Good to go.
