Gout’s the pits

No 1st  Rx  ever  for  grabby  grippe  since  PT diagnosed  late ’12.  Popped all 6 1st  day dosage  at once and  some  relief now using  heel off  arch where all the  needles  connect  up.  Pretty  sure  “rich old man’s”  disease  be seen by blood work now.  Dr has  taken  away Motrin nsaid  Rx  forever and the  affect  of  Tylenol is  not   on inflammation  but  raises  the  temp threshold with  it  still underneath all. Need  too damn much codine  on pain to work  on  anything  very well. So becomes   sleep  it off. while another med kicks in like  steroid on  the inflamed area.

Home  cure  is  usually  cherries and  juice . Never had  blood  taken  during  a  bout  but  was  diagnosed by  Dr  Thompson with sharp  needles  in  foot  sole  one  Caborca  trip. Julio went to a near  pharmacia  and  got  NSAID meds  instead of my MD’s  hydrocodone. Better  anti inflammatory  than Tylenol portion and  it  worked.  Had bad  stabbing  swollen  R foot waking Monday. Much worse   and  not walking Tue  so called  for  emergency  apt  at Well Med  10 AM today. “Get  here  by  11 to see PA”  so got  carried  out by  kids.   PA agreed  Dr Thompson prolly correct  and  gave steroid  tabs  6  day treat.  Out  by  noon home   zonked on  codene.  Tom got  down Dorly’s  red  racer 4WD  seat  scooter  from  hip surgery   in ’12 and  can put  right  ft up and  drag along.  Remember a  wonder  back then when she   was  good  after   6 wk  rehab when’d be me  pushing  along.  Today! Hurrah!  So Georgous George   got me in a  toe lock with his  teeth! Must  of  the  gushy  loverly  foods on  the  high purine list and  red  wine’s  about  the  worst.  OK so its  white  wine  and  vodka cherry juice .  Bringing  the  fresh cherries  and  juice  bottle  home she  has  a pack of  giant 1 1/2″ T-bones  sale @ $ 5.49.  So just  wait  until  pain’s  cut in half  to tackle  one as  can’t  go out  and  grill anyways!   AND a  good  red!  Life is compromises with reality. 8

  1. HAve you tried allopurinol? I took it 30-40 years ago to reduce uric acid count. Worked well, no noticeable (for me) side effects except bright yellow. Just don’t take methyl blue at the same time.
