Nice memories, enjoyed the stories. Your note of email she considers nonsense reminded me of my dear mother. She was “old school” daughter of pure Irish parents, came through Canada, and ended up following the parish priest to SW Washington state around 1925/26. She married dad in 1942, had 7 pretty good kids, then went back to work as a social worker for the State of Washington at age 44. She worked the next 32 years helping couples adopt children who needed help desperately. Supervised over 300 adoptions, including the twins we adopted in 1993. Her co-workers called her Mother Mary. The tie in to your wife was she never used the computer in all those 32 years, only paper. When she finally retired, there were over 1000 emails on her computer that went unread, but she still got the job done using only a land line at work and same at our house. With commitment, old school works pretty darn good.
